Part of the company's strategy to lower their costs and abdicate their responsibility to pay for the cost of doing business is forcing employees to expense the things instead of just buying those things for them. Do not let them. Every time you don't expense a business-related purchase, you're taking a paycut: You're willingly cutting your own pay and putting that money in Tribune's pocket.
Short list of expenses that have been acceptable: Parking, ergonomic office elements (monitor stands, mouse pads, wrist rests, printers, printer paper, office supplies, half your internet bill, courthouse lockers, FOIAs, percentage of electrical and A/C, office furniture, wifi.
